We are proud to share the first Esgaia Insights report!
The aim of this 'Evolution of active ownership' report series and other market outreach is to provide stocktake on trends, opportunities, and challenges for more effective ESG engagement, helping to educate and advance stewardship practices.
The report features platform insights over the previous year, client case studies on engagement priorities and processes, and a spotlight on current market dynamics with an article and interview.
Key insights include for example:
Climate change, human rights, and board effectiveness remain high on clients’ agendas given the pandemic and the growing urgency of many ESG issues.
Driven by regulatory developments in Europe, clients are starting to link engagements in the system to specific PAIs (relevant to SFDR) to demonstrate action.
The case studies show the importance of an integrated, well-governed process, for example as it regards ensuring engagement capacity also in investment departments, and using sessions with internal stakeholders to focus efforts and facilitate a learning environment.
Industry participants should increase policy advocacy through both direct support and coordinated efforts.
Enjoy the read!
